Electric Rc Motor Guide

Welcome to our electric rc motor guide! Below are several helpful hints/tips that can help guide you through the process of caring for your electric rc motor:

Don't get your motor wet! This is especially important for rc boats. We ruined one of our boat motors by getting it wet and not drying it off properly. Although it still works, it spins a lot slower due to corrosion.

Although it is okay if your motor gets hot, make sure that it does not get extremely (as in smoking) hot! If it does, you are probably running too much current through your electric motor, or your rc is too big for your motor! You can always buy a bigger/better motor to fix the current issue, or your can buy a battery that passes less current. If your rc is too big, you may need to add on a different spur gear or get a different motor!

If it is could out, remember that your electric rc motor will not perform as well as it does in the heat. This is because cold electric motors move slower.

Make sure to keep debris out of your motor! This could destroy it!!!

If you are having a hard time mounting your motor, you can always do a DIY mount. We did this for our 1:32 scale drifter, and it works great!

Not every problem comes from a broken motor. Remember how many gears your electric rc has!
